Dr. Stephanie Wiebe
Dr. Stephanie Wiebe has a PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Ottawa. She is registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario to provide psychological services for individual adults and couples.
Dr. Wiebe’s practice focuses on eating disorders, the effects of childhood trauma, relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, coping with health conditions, grief and loss, as well as concerns related to relationships, identity and self-esteem. Dr. Wiebe provides couple therapy with the goal of alleviating relationship distress and creating a deeper emotional connection. She has experience working with couples facing chronic health issues, parenting disagreements, infidelity, depression, anxiety and the effects of past trauma.
Dr. Wiebe uses evidence-based approaches to assessment and treatment that are primarily experiential, interpersonal/psychodynamic and attachment-based. In working with couples, she uses Emotionally Focused Therapy. She is engaged in ongoing professional development in Emotionally Focused Therapy and Somatic Experiencing.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Wiebe provides clinical supervision to doctoral students at the Center for Psychological Services and Research at the University of Ottawa. She is also actively engaged in psychotherapy research in the areas of couple therapy, health psychology, and eating disorders.
